Battle of Romani
The Battle of Romani, fought between 3 and 5 August 1916 was the last ground attack on the Suez Canal during the First World War. The battle occurred 23 miles east of the Suez Canal, near the Egyptian town of Romani and the site of ancient Pelusium on the Sinai Peninsula.

Pelusium
Pelusium was an important city in the eastern extremes of Egypt's Nile Delta, 30 km to the southeast of the modern Port Said. Alternative names include Sena and Per-Amun, Pelousion, Sin, Seyân, and Tell el-Farama. Pelusium was the easternmost major city of Lower Egypt, situated upon the easternmost bank of the Nile, the Ostium Pelusiacum, to which it gave its name.
