Karhunkierros
Karhunkierros (Finnish for Bear's Ring, although the route is not circular) is a hiking trail that stretches from Salla to Kuusamo in north-eastern Finland. The route was first marked in 1955, and has since become the most popular hiking trail in Finland, attracting some 15,000 hikers every year, mainly over the high season lasting from mid-July to late September. The trail is approximately 80 kilometres long, and runs for the most of its length within the Oulanka National Park.

Rukatunturi ski jumping hill
The Rukatunturi ski jumping hill, located in Kuusamo, is the largest ski jumping hill in Finland. It regularly hosts the opening event of the ski jumping World Cup. The large hill and two smaller hills have a plastic matting. The unofficial hill record is 148 metres, jumped by Veli-Matti Lindström in the 2000 Finnish national championships. The official record is one metre shorter, jumped by Gregor Schlierenzauer in 2007.
