Château de Vitré

The Château de Vitré is a medieval castle in the town of Vitré, in the Ille-et-Vilaine département of France. The first castle in Vitré was built of wood on a feudal motte around the year 1000 on the Sainte-Croix hill. The castle was burned down on several occasions, and eventually was bequeathed to the Benedictine monks of Marmoutier Abbey. The first stone castle was built by the baron Robert I of Vitré at the end of the 11th century.

The Verzée is a 52.1 km long river in the Loire-Atlantique and Maine-et-Loire départements, western France. Its source is at Soudan. It flows generally east-southeast. It is a right tributary of the Oudon into which it flows at Segré.

Semnon

The Semnon is a 73.3 km long river in the Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire, Ille-et-Vilaine and Loire-Atlantique départements, western France. Its source is at Congrier. It flows generally west-northwest. It is a left tributary of the Vilaine into which it flows between Pléchâtel and Bourg-des-Comptes.
