The Val sans Retour has been identified with an area of the same name in Paimpont forest in Brittany, southwest of Rennes, which tradition has long held to be the site of the legendary forest of Brocéliande.

The Meu is an 84.8 km long river in the Côtes-d'Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine départements, north western France. Its source is at Saint-Vran, 2.4 km west of the village. It flows generally southeast. It is a right tributaryof the Vilaine into which it flows at Goven, 5.7 km northeast of the village.
