Moronvilliers
In 1911, the small village of Moronvilliers had 86 inhabitants. On 2 September 1914, in the first month of World War I, the village, only 15 kilometers north-east from Rheims, was occupied by German troops. Situated on the frontline, the village was deserted and destroyed during the war. The village was never rebuilt after the war. On June 17, 1950, its territory was merged with that of Pontfaverger, the commune bearing the name Pontfaverger-Moronvilliers.

The Abbey of Saint-Remi is an abbey in Reims, France, founded in the sixth century. Since 1099 it has conserved the relics of Saint Remi (died 553), the Bishop of Reims who converted Clovis, King of the Franks, to Christianity at Christmas in AD 496, after he defeated the Alamanni in the Battle of Tolbiac. The present basilica was the abbey church; it was consecrated by Pope Leo IX in 1049.
