The castle was built by the Hugues II and Hugues III, Lords of Farcheville and Bouville. The great hall was built in 1291 and the castle chapel was consecrated in 1304. Both father and son were chamberlain to Philip IV of France.

The La Ferté-Alais Air Show is an annual meeting of aviation enthusiasts in La Ferté-Alais, France. It takes place at the Cerny airfield {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|29|50|N|2|20|13|E| | |name= }}, which is owned and operated by the "Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis" (AJ-BS). The airfield is also the site of a museum which sports an impressive number of pre-World War I up to present aircraft.

Château du Saussay
The château du Saussay is a French château that forms part of the commune of Ballancourt-sur-Essonne in the department of Essonne. It is situated in the valley of the river Essonne between Corbeil and La Ferté-Alais, on the territory of an old Templar commandery. It is built on the ruins of a 15th century feudal castle, and is a rare collection of two 18th century châteaux facing each other at the entrance to a Romantic park surrounded by water.
