Château de Champs-sur-Marne
The Château de Champs, at Champs-sur-Marne was built in its present form for the treasurer Charles Renouard de la Touane in 1699 by Pierre Bullet, architecte du roi. After the first proprietor's bankruptcy, another financier, Paul Poisson de Bourvalais, took up the project. Jean-Baptiste Bullet de Chamblain, the son of Pierre Bullet, finished Champs in 1706. Ten years later, Paul Poisson was in the Bastille on charges of embezzlement and the château was seized by the Crown.

Lagny-Pomponne rail accident
The Lagny-Pomponne rail accident was a train disaster that happened on December 23, 1933 between Pomponne and Lagny-sur-Marne, twenty kilometers east of Paris, when the 4-8-2 locomotive of the express for Strasbourg crashed at 110 km/hr (65 mph) into the rear of an auxiliary train for Nancy which was stopped on the railway. The impact crushed and splintered the last five cars of the Nancy train, which were older wooden cars pressed into service for the holidays.

Parc Arboretum de Montfermeil
The Parc Arboretum de Montfermeil (10.9 hectares) is a park and arboretum located in Montfermeil, Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France. It is open daily without charge. The park was formed by combining two existing parks, the former parc du Château des Cèdres and parc Jean Valjean, with extensive landscaping during which 731 trees and bushes were planted, adding to those 489 trees already in place. It opened to the public in 2006.
