Domaine of Villarceaux

The Domaine of Villarceaux is a French château, water garden and park located in the commune of Chaussy in the Val d'Oise Department of France, 65 kilometers northwest of Paris. The Domaine is currently managed by the Regional Council of the 'Île-de-France for 99 years, on an agreement with the owners of the domaine, the Fondation Charles Leopold Mayer. The park contains a manor house from the 16th century and a château in the style of Louis XV from the 18th century.

It is located in the regional forest (309 hectares) north of La Roche-Guyon, Val-d'Oise, Île-de-France, France, and open daily without charge. The arboretum was created in 1990 by the ONF. It symbolizes the geography of Île-de-France, and contains 1821 trees reflecting the region's municipalities.

Château-sur-Epte Castle

The Château-sur-Epte Castle is a ruined castle in the commune of Château-sur-Epte in the Eure département of France. Building was begun in 1097 by William Rufus, King of England, to reinforce the frontier of Epte. The castle occupied a site on the border between the Duchy of Normandy and the Kingdom of France. It was reinforced by the Plantagenets in the 12th century and again during the Hundred Years' War.
