Musée du Désert

Le Musée du Désert is a museum dedicated to the history of Protestantism in France, particularly in the Cévennes. Its name refers to the Désert, the period between the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes and the Edict of Toleration (1685-1787) during which Protestantism was illegal in France. The museum, formerly the house of the Camisard leader, Roland Laporte, is situated at Mas Soubeyran, in the commune of Mialet, département Gard, not far from Alès and Nîmes.

Château de Miral

The Château de Miral (13th century) is a historical building on the territory of the commune of Bédouès, Lozère département, in the Cevennes mountains of south-central France, about 10 km east of Florac going towards Le Pont-de-Montvert on road "D998". The castle overlooks the confluent of the Runes River and Tarn River. Its donjon was built towards the end of the 13th century as the seat of the Malbosc-Miral family. Its ramparts defended access to the upper Tarn valley.
