The airfield had its origins in the World War I Western Front as an Armée de L'Air airfield, later being extensively used by the United States Army Air Service.

Toul-Rosières Air Base

It is located in the Meurthe-et-Moselle département of France, 10 miles northeast of the city of Toul, on the west side of the Route nationale 411 (N411) Highway about one mile southeast of Rosières-en-Haye. Toul Air Base was used by American fighter and bomber aircraft during World War II.

Toul Cathedral

Toul Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Toul) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Toul, Lorraine, France, and a fine example of Gothic architecture. It was formerly the seat of the Diocese of Toul, created in 365 and merged in 1824 with the Diocese of Nancy which in 1777 had been formed from the Diocese of Toul. Since 1824 the diocese has been known as the Diocese of Nancy-Toul.

Rupt de Mad

The Rupt de Mad (French: le Rupt de Mad) is a 54.6 km long river in the Meuse and Meurthe-et-Moselle départements, northeastern France. Its source is several small streams which rise at Geville, 17 km northwest of Toul. It flows generally northeast. It is a left tributary of the Moselle into which it flows at Arnaville, 15 km southwest of Metz.
