Zoufftgen train collision

The 2006 Zoufftgen train collision occurred around 11.45 am on 11 October 2006, near Zoufftgen, Moselle, France, some 20 metres from the border with Luxembourg, on the Metz–Luxembourg railway line. Two trains collided head-on while one track of a double track line was out of service for maintenance. Six people, including the drivers of both trains, were killed: two Luxembourgers and four French. Twenty more were injured in the accident, two seriously.

Frisange

Frisange is a commune and town in southern Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette, which is part of the district of Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town of Frisange, which lies in the north of the commune, has a population of 1,302. Other towns within the commune include Aspelt and Hellange.

National Audiovisual Centre

The National Audiovisual Centre (French: Centre national de l'audiovisuel) was created in 1989 and is based in Dudelange, Luxembourg. Its function is to safeguard and promote Luxembourgish audiovisual art. More specifically, it is concerned with photographic, audio and film work created by Luxembourgers or in Luxembourg. The centre also serves as a general exhibition and performance venue.

Aspelt

Aspelt is a small town in the commune of Frisange, in southern Luxembourg. In 2005, its population was 970. Aspelt Castle in the centre of the town is a Baroque residence built in 1590 on the site of a medieval castle from the 11th century. There are now plans to renovate the building.
