Battle of the Sabis

The Battle of the Sabis, also (erroneously) known as the Battle of the Sambre or the Battle against the Nervians, was fought in 57 BC near modern Saulzoir in Wallonia, between the legions of the Roman Republic and an association of Belgic tribes, principally the Nervii. Audencourt is a former commune of the French department of Nord, merged in 1961 into the commune Caudry. Audencourt is one of the 12 peerages of Cambrésis (a former province/region in France). The arms are: Argent, a lion gules, and in chief a label of 4 points azure.

Gare de Caudry

The Gare de Caudry (Caudry station) is a railway station located in the commune of Caudry in the Nord department, France. The station is served by TER Nord-Pas-de-Calais and TER Picardie trains. Caudry was formerly connected by secondary lines with Saint-Quentin via Le Catelet, Cambrai, Denain via Quiévy and Saint-Aubert and Catillon via Le Quesnoy. It was part of the metre gauge system of the Chemin de Fer du Cambrésis.

Stade Nungesser

Stade Nungesser is a multi-use stadium in Valenciennes, France. It is currently used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of Valenciennes FC through the 2010-11 season. The stadium is able to hold 16,457 people and was built in 1930. It is being replaced by the Stade du Hainaut, which will hold 25,000 people, in July 2011. The stadium is named after the ace pilot Charles Nungesser, who was born in Valenciennes.

Stade du Hainaut

Stade du Hainaut is a multi-use stadium in Valenciennes, France. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Valenciennes FC. It has replaced the Stade Nungesser as VAFC's home stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 spectators for football matches, but its capacity can be extended to 35,000 for concerts. The stadium was constructed at a total cost of 75 million euros. It contains 2,600 club seats and 16 luxury boxes.
