Fontinettes boat lift
The Fontinettes Boat Lift was built in 1888 on the Canal de Neufosse and connected the River Aa and the Neufossé Canal in Arques, near Saint-Omer in the Pas-de-Calais to connect in France. It was capable of lifting vessels of 300 tonnes displacement. It was designed to avoid the need to use five locks which took some 90 minutes to change height by 13 metres. It was inspired by the similar Anderton Boat Lift built in 1875 in Cheshire, England.

Saint-Omer Cathedral
Saint-Omer Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Saint-Omer) is a Roman Catholic former cathedral, a minor basilica, and a national monument of France, located in Saint-Omer. It was formerly the seat of the Bishop of Saint-Omer, but the see was not restored after the French Revolution, being instead absorbed into the Diocese of Arras under the Concordat of 1801. The church is still commonly referred to as the "cathedral" however.

Clarence (river)
The Clarence is a river in northern France whose 32 km course crosses the département of Pas-de-Calais. Its source is near the village of Sains-lès-Pernes. It flows through the communes of Sachin, Pernes, Calonne-Ricouart, Calonne-sur-la-Lys and Gonnehem, finally joining the Lys near Merville. It has two tributaries, the Nave and the Grand Nocq.

Mont des Cats
Mont des Cats is a small hill (alt. 164m) near the town of Godewaersvelde, in French Flanders. Its name in Dutch is Katsberg. It is the seat of an abbey bearing the same name, famous for the cheese produced by the monks since 1890. On top of the hill there is an antenna that reaches a height of 364m and transmits both television and radio signals: it emits FM at 500 W and has 3 x UHF 80kW emitters for television The antenna provides part of the Nord Pas de Calais digital television (DTT).
