Massif des Cerces

The massif des Cerces is a region of the French Alps on the Franco-Italian border. On the French side it lies in the departements of Hautes-Alpes and Savoie. Serre Chevalier

Serre Chevalier is a major ski resort in southeastern France, in the Hautes-Alpes department of the Alps. Near the Parc National des Ecrins, it enjoys a large skiing area, with 250 km of slopes and favourable weather, boasting 300 days of sunshine a year. In Serre Chevalier, 80 km of the slopes are covered by snow cannons to supplement natural snowfall. It is owned by Compagnie des Alpes.

Romanche

The Romanche is a 78 km long mountain river in southeastern France, right tributary of the Drac. Its source is in the northern part of the Massif des Écrins, Dauphiné Alps. It flows into the Drac in Champ-sur-Drac, south of Grenoble. The road from Grenoble to Briançon over the Col du Lautaret runs through the Romanche valley. There are several mountain and ski resorts in the valley, including Alpe d'Huez, La Grave and Les Deux Alpes.

Fréjus Rail Tunnel

The Fréjus Rail Tunnel (also called Mont Cenis Tunnel) is a rail tunnel of 13.7 km length in the European Alps, carrying the Turin–Modane railway through Mount Cenis to an end on connection with the Culoz–Modane railway and linking Bardonecchia in Italy to Modane in France. It passes beneath the Pointe du Fréjus (2,932 m) and the Col de Fréjus (2,542 m). The initial gallery was 12.8 kilometres long, twice as much as the previously longest tunnel.
