La Jarjatte

La Jarjatte is a hamlet in the French Dauphiné Alps. Situated at around 1100m, close to the source of the river Buëch, it is part of the commune of Lus-la-Croix-Haute in the Drôme department. Popular with walkers and hikers in the summer, the village has a via ferrata route, a local ski station and over 18 km of cross-country skiing trails. It is bordered on the east by the Dévoluy massif, and the Vercors to the west. Grenoble is the nearest major city, about 75 km away to the north.

Cenomanian

The Cenomanian is, in the ICS' geological timescale the oldest or earliest age of the Late Cretaceous epoch or the lowest stage of the Upper Cretaceous series. An age is a unit of geochronology: it is a unit of time; the stage is a unit in the stratigraphic column deposited during the corresponding age. Both age and stage bear the same name. As a unit of geologic time measure, the Cenomanian age spans the time between 99.6 ± 0.9 and 93.5 ± 0.8 .

Plateau de Bure Interferometer

The Plateau de Bure Interferometer is a six-antenna interferometer on the Plateau de Bure (2550 m) in the French Alps, operated by the Institut de radioastronomie millimétrique. It is specifically designed for millimetre-wave observations and specialises in studies of line emission from molecular gas and radio continuum of cold dust. The interferometer consists of six antennas with a diameter of 15m each.
