Gergeti Trinity Church

Gergeti Trinity Church (Georgian: წმინდა სამება - Tsminda Sameba) is a popular name for Holy Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti in the Georgia. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri (the left tributary of the river Terek), at an elevation of 2170 meters, under Mount Kazbegi. The Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century, and is the only cross-cupola church in Khevi province. The separate belltower dates from the same period as the church itself.

Abano Glacier is located on the southeastern slope of Mt. Kazbek in the Kazbegi District of Georgia. The length of the glacier is 4.6 km and its surface area is 1.6 km . The maximum width of the Abano Glacier is 610 metres . Its meltwater is drained towards the river Terek.

Khevi

Khevi is a small historical-geographic area in northeastern Georgia. It is included in the modern-day Kazbegi district, Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Located on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus mountains, it comprises three gorges of the rivers Truso, Tergi and Snostsq’ali. Gergeti

Gergeti (Georgian: გერგეტი; also known as Ortsveri) is a glacier located on the southeastern slope of Mt. Kazbek in the Kazbegi District of Georgia. The length of the Gergeti glacier is 7.1 km and its surface area is 11 km . The tongue of Gergeti descends to 2,900 metres above sea level. Most of the glacier is located within an old and eroded volcanic caldera, where, at the edge of the caldera's northern rim, rises the cone of Mt. Kazbek.
