Tianeti

Tianeti is a town in east-central Georgia, in the Caucasus Mountains. It is located at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:42|6|34|N|44|57|19|E| | |name= }}. Tianeti is the administrative center of Municipality of Tianeti, which also comprises the town of Sioni and 43 neighbouring villages (total area – 907 km²; population – 13,400, 2002 est.). Pshavi

Pshavi is a small historic-geographic area in Georgia, included in today’s Mtskheta-Mtianeti region and lying chiefly on the southern foothills of the Greater Caucasus mountains along Aragvi River and the lower Iori River. The Pshavs, who are locally called the Pshaveli, speak a Georgian dialect and are Georgian Orthodox. Their history, traditions and customs are similar to those of other eastern Georgian mountaineers, particularly the Khevsurs.
