Franconia

The term of Franconia is today commonly used to refer to the eastern part of the historic Duchy of Franconia in Germany. Schloss Weißenstein

Schloss Weißenstein is a palatial residence in Pommersfelden, Bavaria, southern Germany. It was designed for Lothar Franz von Schönborn, Prince-Bishop of Bamberg and Archbishop of Mainz, to designs by Johann Dientzenhofer and Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt. The Marstall (luxury stable) had been designed by Maximilian von Welsch. Weißenstein, built as a summer residence, remains in the Schönborn family. The castle was built between 1711 and 1718 from local sandstone materials.

Bamberg Land is a district in Bavaria, Germany. It surrounds but does not include the town of Bamberg. The district is bounded by the districts of (from the north and clockwise) Lichtenfels, Bayreuth, Forchheim, Erlangen-Höchstadt, Neustadt (Aisch)-Bad Windsheim, Kitzingen, Schweinfurt and Haßberge.

Stechert Arena

Stechert Arena is an indoor sporting arena located in Bamberg, Germany. The capacity of the arena is 6,800 people. It is currently home to the Brose Baskets basketball team. The arena originally had a capacity of 4,750 people but was extended with a north stand and reopened in October 2006. The new capacity of the arena is 6,800 (basketball) and more than 9,000 people (concerts). The owner of the arena is "Sabine Guenther". The old name was Forum.
