Großwalbur is a village in the district of Coburg, in northern Bavaria, Germany. It is situated 16 km southeast of Hildburghausen, and 14 km northwest of Coburg. Großwalbur is locally well known for its sports club 'TSV 05 Großwalbur' with its main sport activities like handball and table tennis. The Coburg University of Applied Sciences (short Coburg University - until October 1, 2011 University of Applied Sciences Coburg College), re-established in 1971, is a college in Coburg, Northern Bavaria with more than 4,400 students (as of WS 2012/13). CUoAS belongs to the category of smaller Bavarian Universities of Applied Sciences. It offers a broad scope of subjects. Young people from over 40 countries study at Coburg UoAS. CUoAS has 75 international partner institutions.

Erlebach

Erlebach was a village in Germany, founded in 837 A D. It was destroyed by the East German authorities in 1986 as it stood too close to the Inner German border (part of the larger "Iron Curtain"), the border between the post-war states of East and West Germany. It lay in the extreme south of Thuringia in the district of Hildburghausen, only a few hundred metres away from the Thuringian-Bavarian border. In December 1986, the last family left the village.
