Upper Palatinate Tower
The Upper Palatinate Tower is an observation tower on the 946 metres high Platte mountain, the highest peak in the Steinwald and in Northern Upper Palatinate in southern Germany. The first solid observation tower was built in 1971/72 by the Steinwald Nature Park Authority from Steinwald spruce trees. Due to dilapidation it had to be demolished on 1 April 1998. The engineer, Ferdinand Lehner, from Tirschenreuth was then given the contract to design and build a new tower.

Luisenburg Rock Labyrinth
The Luisenburg Rock Labyrinth is a felsenmeer made of granite blocks several metres across and is part of the Großes Labyrinth Nature Reserve near Wunsiedel in Germany. For a long time its formation was believed to have been caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes. Today it is known that processes such as weathering and erosion over a long period are much more likely to have been responsible for the formation of the rock labyrinth.

Schönbrunn (Fichtelgebirge)
Schönbrunn is a village in the heart of the Fichtelgebirge mountains in Bavaria, Germany. It is not far from Wunsiedel and has about 1,400 inhabitants along including Furthammer. It was founded around 1200 as a small settlement within the castle. The oldest building is the church built around 1200. The area has a brewery, a few businesses and a construction industry. The area was agricultural. The number of farms was reduced to 10. It became a subdivision of Wunsiedel in 1975.
