Battle of Großbeeren

In the Battles of Großbeeren and neighboring Blankenfelde and Sputendorf (23 August 1813) an allied Prussian-Swedish army under Crown Prince Charles John - formerly Marshal of France Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte - defeated the French under Marshal Oudinot. Napoleon had hoped to drive the Prussians out of the Sixth Coalition by capturing their capital, but the swamps south of Berlin combined with rain and the Marshal's ill health to bog them down.

Berlin Brandenburg International School

Berlin Brandenburg International School (BBIS) is an IB World School. The school was established 1990 in Potsdam, Germany, but is now located in Kleinmachnow, between Berlin and Potsdam, 17 kilometres to Berlin and 20 kilometres to Potsdam. English is the language of instruction at BBIS, meaning that all subjects, including maths, drama, humanities, technology, music, etc. are taught in English. The school is divided into elementary, middle and upper schools.

Babelsberg Studio

The Babelsberg Film Studio, located in Potsdam-Babelsberg, Germany, is the oldest large-scale film studio in the world. Founded in 1912, it covers an area of about 25,000 square metres . Hasso Plattner Institute

The Hasso Plattner Institute (Hasso-Plattner-Institut für Softwaresystemtechnik GmbH), shortly HPI, is a German information technology university college, affiliated to the University of Potsdam and is located in Potsdam-Babelsberg nearby Berlin.
