Knüllgebirge

Knüllgebirge or Knüll is a small mountain range in Hesse, Germany. It is located in the Northern part of Hesse approximately 45 km South of Kassel, its highest peak is the Eisenberg having an altitude of 635.5m. Its area has a rather low population density (compared to neighbouring regions) and is heavily forested. The principal town of the region is Schwarzenborn with a population of 1158 (2006), which is also the site of some German army headquarters.

Air Assault Infantry Regiment 1 (Bundeswehr)

The German Army's Air Assault Infantry Regiment 1, in German Jägerregiment 1 (luftbeweglich), is a newly formed Air Assault Regiment and the only formation of this kind within the Bundeswehr. The regiment is part of Airmobile Operations Division. Soldiers of this unit are to be deployed to the combat zone by helicopters which are supposed to provide fire support as well. Until creation of the 1st LIRgt (A), the German Armed Forces had no capability of that sort.

Synod of Homberg

Synod of Homberg consisted of the clergy, the nobility, and the representatives of cities, and was held October 20–22, 1526. The synod is remarkable for a premature scheme of democratic church government and discipline, which failed for the time, but contained fruitful germs for the future and for other countries. It was suggested by the disputations which had been held at Zürich for the introduction of the Zwinglian Reformation.
