Constructed in 1998, Windpark Holtriem is one of the largest European windfarms, comprising thirty-three Enercon E-66 wind turbines. Holtriem is a low lying area adjacent to the North Sea in East Frisia. Wittmundhafen Air Base
Wittmundhafen Air Base is a military air base in Germany. It is home to the Jagdgeschwader 71 (JG 71 for short, Fighter Wing 71 in English) of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe). Since May 1974 the F-4F Phantom II is operated from the base. During 2013 JG 71 will transition to the new Eurofighter Typhoon.
