Soßmar is a village in Lower Saxony, about 30 km south of Hanover, 13 km east of Hildesheim and 12 km west of Peine, a few minutes from the national highways B494 and B65. Mehrum Power Station

Mehrum Power Station is a coal-fired power station in Germany. It lies at the central land channel in Mehrum with Hohenhameln, district Peine. It has an installed capacity of 690 megawatts. Today the unit 3, commissioned in 1979, is still in use. The power station has 135 employees. The chimney of the power station is 250 m high. It was owned by E. on until 2009 when it was sold to SWS Stadtwerke Schoenbeck GmbH.

Konrad mine

The pit Konrad (Schacht Konrad) is a former iron ore mine proposed as a deep geological repository for medium- and low level radioactive waste in the city Salzgitter in the Metropolitan region Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg in southeast Lower Saxony, Germany, located between Hildesheim and Braunschweig. It has two shafts : Konrad I and Konrad II.
