Hespenbusch
Hespenbusch is a farm, which belongs to the municipality of Grossenkneten. Karl Poggensee and the Hermann Oberth society (succeeded by the DAFRA, German work company for affairs of rocket) operated between 1952 and 1957 a launch site for small rockets with a maximum flight level of some kilometers, close to this farm. The 31st (Oldenburg) Airborne Brigade (German: Luftlandebrigade 31 “Oldenburg“) is a 3,600 man strong formation in the German Army with its headquarters in Oldenburg in north Germany. It is subordinated to the Special Operations Division and classified as part of the Army’s stabilisation forces. All elements of the Brigade are stationed in the state of Lower Saxony, the majority in Seedorf.
