Nord-Elm

Nord-Elm is a federation of municipalities in Helmstedt, Lower Saxony. It is named after the Elm, on the northern edge of which it is located. Nord-Elm has an area of 63 km² and a population of 6,200 (2003); its capital is Süpplingen. It was founded in 1969. Bornum am Elm

Bornum am Elm is a village of about 850 inhabitants in the city of Königslutter am Elm, Lower Saxony, Germany. It was a municipality until 1974, when it was joined to Königslutter. Bornum is situated near the northern edge of the Elm hills on the bank of the Scheppau stream, at an elevation of 135 meters. Neighboring places are Scheppau, Lauingen, and Abbenrode, as well as Königslutter proper. Industries include farming, tourism, and construction.

Mariental Abbey

Mariental Abbey in the present Mariental in Lower Saxony, Germany, is a former Cistercian monastery founded in 1138, along with Marienberg Abbey in Helmstedt, by Pfalzgraf Friedrich II von Sommerschenburg. It was a daughter house of Altenberg Abbey of the filiation of Morimond. The initial complement consisted of twelve monks from Altenberg under an abbot (Bodo) from Amelungsborn Abbey.
