Heringsdorf Airport

Heringsdorf Airport is a regional airport located near Garz on the island of Usedom in Germany. It takes its name from the nearby municipality of Heringsdorf, located some 10 km to the north. The largest town on the island is Świnoujście (population 41,000), located in Poland, immediately to the east of the airport. The airport served 30,754 passengers in 2005 and at present has only seasonal scheduled service.

Usedom

Usedom is a Baltic Sea island on the border between Germany and Poland. It is situated north of the Szczecin Lagoon estuary of the River Oder in Pomerania. Most of the island belongs to the German district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with the exception of the eastern part and the city of Świnoujście which is in Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Usedom Botanical Gardens, Mellenthin

The Usedom Botanical Gardens, Mellenthin (German: Usedoms Botanischer Garten Mellenthin) (60,000 m²) is a private botanical garden located at Chausseeberg 1, Mellenthin, Usedom, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is open daily in the warmer months; an admission fee is charged. The garden was constructed between 2006-2008 and opened on May 1, 2009. It contains about 50,000 plants representing approximately 1,000 taxa that are winter-hardy on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom.
