Ruwer/Eitelsbach
Ruwer/Eitelsbach is a quarter of Trier, Germany. Eitelsbach was a small village at the Ruwer (river) in Germany's Mosel region and famous for the wine estate Karthäuserhof and the associated vineyard Karthäuserhofberg, which means "Carthusians' Hill". The wines are labeled "Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberger. " Eitelsbach and Ruwer were added to Trier in 1969. They formed the Trier district of Ruwer/Eitelsbach in 1974.

Ruwer (river)
The Ruwer is a river in Germany with a length of 46 kilometres, a right tributary of the Moselle River. The valley of the Ruwer is a part of the wine-growing region Mosel near Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate. It is famous for its wines of Riesling, see Ruwer (region), and previous to August 1, 2007 the Mosel region used to be known as Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. At the lower Ruwer valley are situated the villages Waldrach, Kasel, Mertesdorf, Eitelsbach and Ruwer.

Ruwer is a Verbandsgemeinde with 18,014 inhabitants (Dez. 2008) on the river Ruwer near Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is famous for the wine from the wine-growing region Mosel, which previously was called Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, and which was founded by the Romans. The administrative seat (formerly located in Ruwer, which was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the city Trier) is located in Waldrach since November 2005.
