Rote Welle
Rote Welle (in English red wave) is an abandoned village in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Today, there can be found ruins, but most of them are from a time when the village did not exist any more. The place is located in the valley of the, same named, stream Rote Welle, circa 2.3 kilometers north of the village Welfesholz. After the Battle of Welfesholz in 1115, Rote Welle got plundered and burned down with the other villages Lodderstedt, Nisselsdorf, Milrode, Wesenstedt and Disdorf.

Rothenburg Ferry
The Rothenburg Ferry is a cable ferry across the Saale at Rothenburg in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Technically, the ferry is a reaction ferry, which is propelled by the current of the water. The ferry is attached to a floating cable which is anchored firmly in the riverbed upstream of the ferry. To operate the ferry, it is angled into the current, causing the force of the current to swing the ferry across the river on the cable.
