Hainichen concentration camp

Hainichen concentration camp is a concentration camp at Öderanstrasse in Hainichen, Saxony, formed on April 4, 1933 by order of Amtshauptmann Döbeln. Ortsgruppenleiter Georg "Zuff" Ziegler was the commandant and Friedrich Zill served as his deputy. The guards consisted of SA-Sturm 5/139, later supplemented by SA-Sturmbann II/148 from Colditz. Despite the nomenclature, Hainichen was an early concentration camp for leftist detainees.

The Central German Metropolitan Region (Metropolregion Mitteldeutschland in German) is one of eleven metropolitan regions in Germany. It extends over parts of the German states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, the capital city of Germany, and approximately 170 km north of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The largest of the 11 member cities are Dresden and Leipzig in Saxony, Halle (Saale) and Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt and Erfurt in Thuringia.

Döbeln Central Station

Döbeln Central Station (Döbeln Hauptbahnhof) is the largest station of Döbeln in the German state of Saxony. It was built as a wedge-shaped station. The station is listed by the rail authorities with the abbreviation of DDE. The Borsdorf–Coswig and Riesa–Chemnitz lines cross in Döbeln Hbf. The first station in Döbeln opened in 1847 at nearby Großbauchlitz along with the Riesa–Chemnitz line.
