Cospudener See

The Cospudener See (sometimes translated as Cospuden Lake) is a lake situated south of Leipzig. It is on the site of a former open cast mine. The lake has become highly popular with the local population, with long stretches of sand beaches (some clothing-optional, following the East German tradition of public nude bathing) and with a sauna directly located at the lake. There is also a small sailing harbour.

Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology

The Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (German: Max-Planck-Institut für evolutionäre Anthropologie) is a research institute based in Leipzig, Germany, founded in 1997. It is part of the Max Planck Society network. The institute comprises five departments and several Junior Scientist Groups, and currently employs about three hundred and thirty people.

Leipzig Bayerischer Bahnhof

The Bayerischer Bahnhof (Bavarian station) in Leipzig is Germany's oldest preserved railway station. It was built in 1842 for the Leipzig–Hof line by the Saxon-Bavarian Railway Company, later taken over by the Royal Saxon State Railways (Königlich Sächsische Staatseisenbahnen) and operated as the Saxon-Bavarian State Railways (Sächsisch-Bayerische Staatseisenbahn). The station was closed in 2001 for the construction of the Leipzig city tunnel.
