Saronic Islands

The Saronic Islands or Argo-Saronic Islands is an archipelago in Greece, named after the Saronic Gulf in which they are located, just off the Greek mainland. The main inhabited islands of this group are Salamis (where the ancient Greek navy defeated the Persians in the Battle of Salamis), Aegina, Angistri, and Poros.

Salamis Bay

Salamis Bay is a bay in Greece that connects with the Saronic Gulf to the west. The total length is approximately 10 km long from north east to west and about 4 km wide from north to south. It begins from the northwesternmost tip down to Cape Petritis. Villages by the gulf include Aianteio (or Eantio). The mountains encircle the bay except for the open waters to the west. The road linking with places in the south of the island lie to the east and another further north.
