Myrtia is a village in the northern part of the municipal unit Nikos Kazantzakis, Crete, Greece. It is 15 km from Heraklion. It is situated at an altitude of 365 meters from the sea. The Galatas Palace is a Minoan site on Crete found in the early 1990s. The East Wing is the best preserved part of the building, while the West and South wings have been extensively damaged.
