Oreino, Lasithi

Oreino is a small village in Lasithi prefecture on Crete. It is situated 29 kilometers north east of Ierapetra and lies 10 kilometers from the sea. Today it belongs to Ierapetra municipality. It has been built 650 meters above sea level ('oreinos' means mountainous in Greek), east of Thripti mountain, in an area rich in vegetation.

Agriomandra

Katergo

Katergo (Greek: Κάτεργο, "galley or hulk"), is an uninhabited Greek islet, in the Aegean Sea, close to the eastern coast of Crete. Administratively it lies within the Itanos municipality of Lasithi.

Ha Gorge

Ha Gorge is a gorge on the eastern part of the island of Crete in Greece. It is located in the west slope of Thrypti mountain and exits east of Vasiliki village in the plain of Ierapetra. The gorge is about 1.5km long, particularly narrow at several points and has walls rising up to 300m. Its name derives from the verb hasko meaning to open or part widely, to gape. Ha is considered to be one of the wildest gorges in Crete and one of the most difficult to cross.

Sfaka

Sfaka is a mountain village in Crete, situated between Agios Nikolaos and Sitia. Sfaka belongs to the Municipality of Sitia. It has a long history, and archaeological monuments including the meta-Byzantine icons of "Stavrosis" and the Church "Panagia" in the "Kato Chorio". Sfaka now has 200 - 250 inhabitants, but in the past its population was greater than 2000. Recently, Sfaka has been considered a tourist destination for its port, Mochlos.
