Kardamyli (Greek: Καρδαμύλη, variously transliterated as Kardamyle, Cardamyle, Kardhamili, and Kardamili) is a town by the sea and thirty-five kilometers from Kalamata. It is the seat of the municipality of Lefktro in the region of Mani. In the Iliad (Book 9), Homer cites Kardamyli as one of the seven cities offered by Agamemnon to Achilles as a condition to rejoin the fight during the Trojan War. The village preserves its ancient name.

Taygetus
Mount Taygetus, Taugetus, or Taygetos is a mountain range in the Peloponnese peninsula in Southern Greece. The name is one of the oldest recorded in Europe, appearing in the Odyssey. In classical mythology, it was associated with the nymph Taygete. During Byzantine times and up until the 19th century, the mountain was also known as Pentadaktylos (Πενταδάκτυλος; Greek for five-fingered, a common name during that period).

Arna, Greece
Arna is a village on the eastern slopes of the Taygetus mountain range, at an altitude of 700m to 850m (2,300 to 2,800 feet). Located in Laconia, in the Peloponnese, it used to form part of the municipal unit of Faris until the 31st of December of 2010. Since 1st of January of 2011 it is one of the local communities of the municipality of Sparta. The nearest major towns are Gytheio, 35 km to the southeast, and Sparta, approximately 40 km to the north. The area has a rich history.
