Morne du Cibao

Morne du Cibao is the third highest mountain in Haiti, after Pic la Selle and Pic Macaya. It is the highest point in the Montagnes du Cibao, and rises to an elevation of 2,280 meters (7,480 feet) above sea level.

Kenscoff

Kenscoff is a town in the Ouest Department of Haiti, located in mountainous country some 10 kilometres to the southeast of the capital Port-au-Prince. The altitude is approximately 1500 meters. Because of its altitude, the temperature is on average cooler than the capital and during winter months it can become quite cold; cold enough to warrant a sweater or a jacket. It has a population of around 4000.

Morne Bois-Pin

Morne Bois-Pin is the fourth highest mountain in Haiti. It is 2,235 meters (7,333 feet) above sea level. The three taller Haitian mountains are Pic la Selle, Pic Macaya, and Morne du Cibao.

La Visite National Park

La Visite National Park (French: Parc National La Visite) is one of the two national parks of the Republic of Haiti. The park covers approximately 30 km, consisting mainly of pine forest, grasslands, and some montane broadleaf forest at an altitude above 1,700 m . The Haitian government established the La Visite National Park in 1983. The capital,Port-au-Prince, is only 22 kilometers north from the park. The western boundary of La Visite is the ridge of the Massif de la Selle.

1751 Port-au-Prince earthquake

The 1751 Port-au-Prince earthquake occurred at 12:50 UTC on 21 November in French Haiti, followed by a sea wave. Another earthquake was reported at the same location on 15 September of the same year and it is uncertain whether the two reports refer to the same event.
