Cavaellon

Cavaellon is a rural town located in the Sud Department of Haiti. Its nearest neighbouring towns/cities are Nan Cotie (12km north), Saint-Louis-du-Sud (20km southeast), and Les Cayes (16km west). The town is most famous for being the birthplace of both Benito Martínez Abrogán, Cuba's oldest-ever person, and George Valris, a famous Caribbean artist.

Baradères

Baraderes is a town in Nippes Department in the southwest part of Haiti. The town has a picturesque market square with a large church. There are few shops and no hotels. The area economy is based on subsistence agriculture, although a small association of subsistence farmers, Kafe Devlopman Barade, began exporting coffee to the U.S. in 2008. The town is vulnerable to flooding and is accessible via a rocky dirt road.

Zanglais, Haiti

Zanglais is a rural area in the commune of Saint Louis du Sud, population of approximately 7,860. There are approximately 4,103 males and 3,757 females. The makeup of the population comprises 4,226 adults 18 years and older and the remainder 17 years and younger which is approximately 3,634. Zanglais has no public schools or a community clinic. There is a subtantial amount of unschooled children and the majority of the population are in need of some sort of medical attention.

Sud (English: South, Haitian Creole: Sid) is one of the ten departments of Haiti. It has an area of 2,794 square kilometres and a population of 745,000 (2002). Its capital is Les Cayes. A significant part of the population in this department is of mixed race, people of Arabs descent and from the Indian subcontinent.
