Chung Ying Street

Chung Ying Street is a street on the border between Hong Kong and Mainland China, within the border town of Sha Tau Kok (Hong Kong)/Shatoujiao (Mainland China). One side of the street belongs to Hong Kong, and the other belongs to Mainland China. In Cantonese, Chung means China and Ying England or the United Kingdom. The name is a mark of history of the Second Convention of Peking, a treaty that China under Qing was forced to lease New Territories to Britain in 1899.

A Chau

For A Chau (丫洲) in Tai Po District, see Centre Island, Hong Kong. A Chau is a small island in the inner most of Starling Inlet (Sha Tau Kok Hoi), off Nam Chung, in the north-eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. It is under the administration of North District. The island falls within the Closed Area.

Luk Keng Chan Uk

Luk Keng Chan Uk (鹿頸陳屋) is a village situated in the Luk Keng area, in the northeastern part of the New Territories, Hong Kong. It is however a popular tourist attraction for sightseeing and hiking. As the name suggests, this village is mainly inhabited by the Chan (陳 Hakka tsin11) Clan. Though mainly inhabited by the Chan clan, there are other different surnames in the village such as Wong. It is a Hakka speaking village.
