Deildartunguhver

Deildartunguhver is a hotspring in Reykholtsdalur, Iceland. It is characterized by a very high flow rate for a hot spring (180 liters/second) and water emerges at 97 °C. It is the highest-flow hot spring in Europe. Some of the water is used for heating, being piped 34 kilometers to Borgarnes and 64 kilometers to Akranes. A fern called the "deer fern" or "hard fern", Blechnum spicant, grows near Deildartunguhver. This fern grows nowhere else in Iceland.

Bifröst (town)

Bifröst is a small settlement in western Iceland, in the Mýrasýsla county. It is located in the Northwest Political constituency and is the site of Bifröst University, a small private campus university. In the town of Bifröst there is a convenience store called Samkaup strax, a coffee house, a kindergarten and a gym among other things.

Bifröst University

Bifröst University is located in the valley of Norðurárdalur, approximately 30 kilometers north of Borgarnes, Iceland. Originally a business school, it also offers degrees in law and social sciences. As of 2007, the university has approximately 560 full-time resident students in its bachelors, masters and preparatory programs, with 700 other non-resident students pursuing bachelor's and master's degrees. A village, also called Bifröst, has grown up around the university.

Norðurárdalshreppur

Norðurárdalshreppur was formerly a rural parish in Mýrasýsla county, west Iceland. On 11 June 1994 Norðurárdalshreppur united with Borgarnes, Hraunhreppur and Stafholtstungnahreppur under the name Borgarbyggð.
