Alipore

Alipore is headquarters of South 24 Parganas district and a neighbourhood in South Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. Alipore, Kolkata, is one of the poshest and costliest localities in Kolkata, along with the area Ballygunge. It is flanked by the Tolly Nullah to the north, Bhowanipore to the east, the Diamond Harbour Road to the west and New Alipore to the south, bordered by the Budge Budge section of the Sealdah South section railway line. The Pin Code of Alipore is Kolkata 700027.

Bhowanipore

Bhowanipore or Bhabanipur is the oldest locality of South Kolkata. It is located just south of the Lower Circular Road. It is the second largest locality in South Kolkata after Ballygunge. The locality has its boundary touching the AJC Bose Road, Maidan, Victoria Memorial and consists of well-known and posh localities like Elgin Road, Gokhale Road, Woodburn Park, Bakulbagan Road, Harish Mukherjee Road, Beltala Road, Townshend Road and parts of Chakraberia and Lansdowne.

Kalighat Home for the Dying

Kalighat, the Home of the Pure Heart (Nirmal Hriday) (formerly Kalighat Home for the Dying) is a hospice for the sick, destitute and the dying in Kalighat, Kolkata, India, established by Mother Teresa. The building was an old abandoned Hindu temple to the goddess Kali, the Hindu goddess of time and change, before she sought permission to use it.
