Dongkha La
Dongkha la or Donkia Pass is a high mountain pass in the Himalaya connecting Sikkim in India with Tibet in China. The pass offers a view of the Tibetan Plateau. The pass is located in North Sikkim. The Tso Lhamo Lake is located near the pass, 6.5 km long and 2.5 km wide. The Teesta River is attributed to originate from Tso Lhamo lake. The Gurudongmar Lake some 5 kilometres to west-northwest also feeds Teesta.

Chungthang
Chungthang is a town in North Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim. It is situated at the confluence of two rivers: River Lachen and Lachung Chu, both tributaries of the River Teesta. Chungthang is located a distance of 95 kilometres from the capital Gangtok. The Indian army has a major forward base in the town including a medical centre.
