Singhbhum district

Singhbhum was once a large district in the present-day Indian state of Bihar. Chaibasa was the district headquarters of the erstwhile Singhbhum district. Earlier this area was a part of Odisha's Gajapati Empire. In the 19th Century this area became a part of the Chota Nagpur Division of Bengal Presidency in British India. That district has in recent decades been divided into three smaller districts, being East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Saraikela Kharsawan.

Noamundi

Noamundi is a census town in Pashchimi Singhbhum district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is also an administrative block. It is a small mining town in close to the Odisha border. It lies near to Jamshedpur and 64 km from Chaibasa. Nearby towns include Padapahar, Barajamda, Kharsawan, Gua and Kiriburu.

Barbil

Barbil is a town and a municipality in the Kendujhar district of the state of Odisha, India. The region around Barbil has the fifth largest deposit of iron ore and manganese ore in the world.
