Bansgaon

Bansgaon is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Gorakhpur District in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is well known for the Thakurs(Rajputs) settled there. Originally, it is said, the place was occupied by the Chauhans, but they were ousted by the Shrinets who still commemorate their conquest by assembling in the month of Asvina to offer sacrifice at the ancient Shrinet of Devi. They are one of the most powerful Shrinets(Rajputs)of India.

Ramgarh Tal Lake

Ramgarh Taal is a lake located near Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It covers an area of 723 hectares and its embankment is 18 km long. On the south-east of Gorakhpur city and the south side of the metalled road to the kasia in Deoria district is the Ramgarh Tal. It was formerly covered, save during the rains, with a dense growth of reeds, which was a menace to the health of the town and has since a large part of it been cleared off.

Rohni River

The Rohni or Rohini River rises in the Chure or Siwalik Hills in Kapilvastu and Rupandehi Districts of Nepal's Lumbini Zone and flows south into Uttar Pradesh state, India. At Gorakhpur it becomes a left bank tributary of West Rapti River, which in turn joins the Ghāghara above Gaura Barhaj, then Ghaghara in turn joins the Ganges.
