Ram Jhula

Ram Jhula is an iron suspension bridge situated at Muni Ki Reti in Rishikesh in Indian state of Uttarakhand. Built in the 1980s, over river Ganges to cross the river and is a landmark of Rishikesh. Ram jhula is located 3 kilometres north of Rishikesh at Muni Ki Reti. There are some of the Hindu ashrams and religious centers like "The Gita Bhawan", and "Swarg Ashram" located here. It is also a connecting bridge between Swargadham, Gita Bhawan and other temples with Sivananda Ashram.

Lakshman Jhula

Lakshman Jhula or Laxman Jhula is an iron suspension bridge situated in Rishikesh in Indian state of Uttarakhand . It is made over river Ganges to cross the river and is a landmark of Rishikesh. A similar bridge near Lakshman Jhula is Ram Jhula It is said that Lakshman crossed Ganges on jute ropes between the place where this bridge is built. Lakshman Jhula was built in 1939. There are spectacular views from the bridge.

The Beatles in India

In February 1968, the Beatles traveled to Rishikesh, India to attend an advanced Transcendental Meditation (TM) training session at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Amidst widespread media attention, their visit was one of the band's most productive periods. Their interest in the Maharishi changed Western attitudes about Indian spirituality and encouraged the study of Transcendental Meditation.
