1917 Bali earthquake

The 1917 Bali earthquake occurred at 06:50 local time on 21 January . It had an estimated magnitude of 6.6 on the surface wave magnitude scale and had a maximum perceived intensity of IX (Violent) on the Mercalli intensity scale. It caused widespread damage across Bali, particularly in the south of the island. It triggered many landslides, which caused 80% of the 1500 casualties.

Buleleng Regency

Buleleng is a regency (kabupaten) of Bali, Indonesia. It has an area of 1,365.88 km and population of 577,644 (1999). Its regency seat is Singaraja. Buleleng was founded as a kingdom by Gusti Panji Sakti, who ruled c. 1660-c. 1700. He is commemorated as a heroic ancestor-figure who expanded the power of Buleleng to Blambangan on East Java. The kingdom was weakened during his successors, and fell under the suzerainty of the neighbouring Karangasem kingdom in the second half of the 18th century.

Eka Karya Botanic Garden or Bali Botanic Garden is a botanic garden in Bedugul, Bali, for botanical research, conservation, education and recreation. The Eka Karya Botanic Garden is situated at 1250-1450 m above sea level, with an area of 157.5 hectares (389 acres).
