Sumedang

Sumedang is a town in West Java, Indonesia, approximately 35 km northeast of Bandung. The town is just south of the volcanic Mount Tampomas, which is 1,684 m (5,525 ft) high and is usually climbed from the subdistrict of Cimalaka, 7 km from Sumedang. Sumedang's museum, Prabu Geusan Ulun, houses a collection of traditional Sundanese weaponry, as well as some crown jewels and other finery. It is located on Geusan Ulun Road.

Mount Tampomas

Mount Tampomas is a small andesitic stratovolcano in West Java, Indonesia. A young lava flows are found on the eastern flank of the volcano. The mountain was used as a source of construction rock to build the nearby Mrica Hydroelectric Dam project. Tampomas means "without gold: in Bahasa Indonesia. The mountain is locally known as Agro Gusti Kencanawati and a lady spirit resides there.
