Alborz

Alborz, also written as Alburz, Elburz or Elborz, is a mountain range in northern Iran stretching from the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the northwest to the southern end of the Caspian Sea, and ending in the east at the borders of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. The highest mountain in West Asia, Mount Damavand, Amol, Mazandaran is located in the range. The Alborz mountain range forms a barrier between the south Caspian and the Qazvin-Tehran plateau.

Lar National Park

Lar National Park (پارک ملی لار park-e melli-e lar in Persian) is a protected area in Iran, on the foot of Mount Damavand, straddling the two provinces of Mazandaran and Tehran. The Lar Dam is located in the park, and is a major tourist attraction, situated just 70 kilometers northeast of the capital and the most populous city of the country, Tehran. The area of the park is around 30,000 hectares. This area dates back to 600-700 A.C.
