Hindiya
Al-Hindiya or Hindiya is a city in Iraq on the Euphrates River. Nouri al Maliki went to school there in his younger days. Al-Hindiya is located in the Kerbala Governorate. The city used to be known as Tuwairij, which gives name to the "Tuwairij run" that takes place here every year as part of the Mourning of Muharram on the Day of Ashura.

The Al-‘Abbās Mosque or Masjid al-‘Abbās is the mausoleum of ‘Abbās ibn ‘Alī, located across from the Imām Husayn Mosque in Karbalā, Iraq. ‘Abbās was the brother of Hasan and Husayn, and was the flag-bearer for Husayn in the Battle of Karbalā. Karbala

Imam Husayn Shrine
The Shrine of Hussein ibn Ali is one of the oldest mosques in the world and a holy site of Shiism in the city of Karbala, Iraq. It stands on the site of the grave of Hussein ibn Ali, the second grandson of Muhammad, near the place where he was killed during the Battle of Karbala in 680 C.E.. The tomb of Hussein ibn Ali is one of the holiest places for Shias outside of Mecca and Medina, and many make pilgrimages to the site.

Hindiya Barrage
The Hindiya Barrage is located on the Euphrates south of the town of Musayyib in Babil Governorate, Iraq. It was designed by British civil engineer William Willcocks in response to the silting up of the Hillah branch of the Euphrates. Construction of the dam, with a length of over 250 metres, lasted between 1911 and 1913. Between 1984 and 1989, a new dam was built several kilometres upstream as a replacement for the Hindiya Barrage.
