Sooey
Sooey is a village in County Sligo, Ireland. The village is situated near Riverstown, on the R284 road which runs between Sligo and Leitrim village in County Leitrim. It is the burial place of Provisional Irish Republican Army volunteer, Kevin Coen. The village has its own church, primary school and community hall. Coola Post Primary School is located just outside Sooey village. The word "sooey" is derived from the word sorrel which is a plant which used to be common in "sooey".

Ballynary (Irish: Baile an Fharraigh, meaning "townland of the fodder") is the name of a townland on the eastern shore of Lough Arrow in the southern corner of County Sligo in Ireland. Ballynary was the ancestral seat of the O'Higgins family (or Ó hUigínn in Gaelic) for 700 years, until they were forced off their lands in 1654 by Oliver Cromwell.
