Rocca Bernardo Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield in Italy, which was located approximately 8 km east of Cotronei in Calabria, southern Italy. It was an all-weather temporary field built by the XII Engineer Command using a graded earth compacted surface, with a prefabricated hessian (burlap) surfacing known as PHS. PHS was made of an asphalt-impregnated jute which was rolled out over the compacted surface over a square mesh track (SMT) grid of wire joined in 3-inch squares.

Casa del Conte is a village near other villages such as St Maria, St Marco and the mountain village, Perdifumo. This area of Italy lies on the south west coast. Castellabate, minutes away from Casa del Conte, is home to an old castle. This used to belong to abbots in medieval times, hence "castellabate" (meaning castle of the abbot).
